Mitchell Center Executive Committee Member and Walter H. Annenberg Professor of History Sophia Rosenfeld has been long-listed for the prestigious Cundill History Prize for her book, The Age of Choice: A History of Freedom in Modern Life. The Cundill History Prize recognizes and rewards the best history writing in English.

Associate Director Ibrahim Bakri joined the Middle East Center's Liyan Alkawafhah in a lecture for PennRSSA -- an intensive, hybrid summer program focused on academic, career, and postsecondary preparation. Their lecture focused on the importance of language learning, and the unique role that linguistic skills play in career advancement and cultural competence.

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the Andrea Mitchell Center held the 18th Annual Undergraduate Conference. The conference was divided into three panels, titled: Layers of Political Economy, Place and Displacement, & Interpretation: Text, Interview, Violence, Embodiment.
