The Andrea Mitchell Center for the Study of Democracy is pleased to announce that applications are now open for both the Undergraduate Fellowship and Graduate Fellowship for the 2026–27 academic year. These annual fellowships support University of Pennsylvania students whose research, writing, and public engagement explore the meaning, practice, and future of democracy—locally, nationally, and globally.
The Center invites Penn students from all schools and disciplines to apply. Fellows will join a vibrant intellectual community dedicated to examining democratic institutions, political participation, social movements, inequality, governance, and the evolving challenges facing democratic societies. Throughout the year, fellows present their work in workshop settings, engage with leading scholars, and participate in the Center’s broader programming.
The application deadline for both programs is February 20, 2026.
