Matthew Roth holds a Ph.D. in History from Rutgers University and is the author of Magic Bean: The Rise of Soy in America (2018). He has contributed to The Baffler, In These Times, The Encyclopedia of Urban Studies, the Chicago Reader, Organization and Environment, and Invisible Culture.
